FIFA has imposed a three-transfer-window registration ban on Kayserispor. The sanction stems from unpaid wages totalling 180,000 euros owed to former technical director Erling Moe and assistant coach Hussain Etzaz Mozafar.
The club confirmed the decision in a written statement, saying, "Due to the receivables of 120,000 euros from our former Technical Director Erling Moe and 60,000 euros from assistant coach Hussain Etzaz Mozafar, a three-period transfer registration ban decision has been made against our club within the scope of the files conducted at FIFA." The statement added, "The said ban can be lifted upon payment of the total amount of 180,000 euros in the relevant files."
The ban deals a significant blow to Kayserispor's rebuilding plans following their relegation from the Süper Lig. The team currently leads the 1. Lig table with 16 points from 7 games, having won 5, drawn 1, and lost 1. Their next match is away to Mardin 1969 on September 20. If the ban remains in effect, Kayserispor will be unable to register new players, forcing them to rely on their existing squad. Top scorer Taulant Seferi, with 7 goals this season, will be a key figure in maintaining their form without reinforcements.
