Kayserispor secured a dramatic last-minute 3-2 victory over Manisa FK in the 9th week of the Trendyol 1. Lig at Kadir Has Stadium. Murat Cem Akpınar's 93rd-minute winner sealed the three points and stays at the top of the table.
Benhur Keser put Kayserispor ahead in the 38th minute. Moreno doubled the lead early in the second half with a goal in the 52nd minute. Manisa FK pulled one back through Atakan Çankaya just two minutes later. The visitors then equalised in the 87th minute through a goal from Sylla, who was then sent off in the 90th minute after receiving a second yellow card. Kayserispor capitalised on the numerical advantage, with Akpınar firing home the decisive goal deep into stoppage time.
The win takes Kayserispor to 22 points, maintaining their three-point lead at the summit. They have recorded seven wins, one draw, and one loss from their opening nine matches. Their next fixture is an away trip to face 7th-placed Antalyaspor on October 14th.
Manisa FK technical director Selman Çoşkun commented on unsavoury incidents after the final whistle. "We experienced very ugly, unpleasant moments at the end of the match that do not befit either team," Çoşkun said. He added, "Especially the presence of knives in the hands of fans in the mixed area created a situation where our safety was not guaranteed." Çoşkun also stated, "We wanted to reflect our own philosophy and character on the pitch. We did this in parts. We got into positions offensively."
Taulant Seferi remains Kayserispor's top scorer this season with seven goals in nine appearances.
