Kayserispor has been hit with heavy sanctions by the Turkish Football Federation's Professional Football Discipline Committee (PFDK) for incidents during their 1. Lig match against Manisa FK on 10 October 2026. The club must pay a total fine of 420,000 Turkish Lira, while club doctor Mehmet Karakuş has been banned from dressing rooms and benches for three official matches. These penalties come as the team sits first in the 1. Lig with 25 points from 10 games, having recorded eight wins, one draw, and one loss.

The PFDK ruled that Kayserispor was "fined 140,000 TL under Article 46/1 of the FDT for non-compliance with instructions due to hanging a banner in the stands in a way that obstructed spectators' view during the Kayserispor - Manisa FK 1. Lig match played on 10.10.2026." A further 140,000 TL fine was imposed on the club for pitch invasions and incidents caused by fans.

STAFF SANCTIONS

Club doctor Mehmet Karakuş received separate punishment for an attack on members of the opposing team. The PFDK decided "to fine Mehmet Karakuş 30,000 TL and ban him from entering the dressing room and substitute bench for 3 Official Matches under Articles 44/1-c and 35/4 of the FDT, with the application of Article 8 of the FDT, for his attack on members of the opposing team." Additionally, club staff members Okan Akkaya, Emre Çobanoğlu, Erdinç Çelik, and Mustafa Altun were each fined 25,000 TL for being in non-accredited areas. Okan Akkaya also received a 21-day ban for directing insults at opposing team members.

The third 140,000 TL fine levied on the club was for failure to operate the accreditation system. The match in question ended in a 3-2 home victory for Kayserispor. Electronic ticket cards for spectators in the North Tribune North Lower D block, identified as being involved in the incidents, were blocked from entry to the next home match.

These disciplinary decisions serve as a significant warning for Kayserispor as they continue their push at the top of the league. The team leads the 1. The team's top scorer this season is Taulant Seferi with 9 goals. In the week the fines were announced, Kayserispor secured a convincing 4-0 away win against Antalyaspor. The team now prepares to host fourth-placed Batman Petrolspor at home on 18 October. The leaders hold a three-point advantage over second-placed Bursaspor.
