Kayserispor have been hit with two new FIFA transfer and registration bans. Registered on 16 October 2026, these bans bring the club's total number of active FIFA ban dossiers to seven. These sanctions cast a shadow over the backdrop of a team that is maintaining its league leadership and total of 26 points.

The total financial obligation across all files has reached 1.934 million euros. The new dossiers are for former players Ali Karimi, at 1.007 million euros, and Vito Tercolo, at 156,000 euros. The club stated that all bans are of a 'pay-to-lift' nature and can be removed upon debt settlement and completion of FIFA procedures.

In a statement, the club said: "A new transfer and registration ban has been imposed on our club by FIFA due to a receivable of 456,000 euros arising from the file of our former player Mehdi Bourabia." This ban adds to those previously imposed for coach Erling Moe and assistant coach Hussain Etzaz Mozafar.

Ali Karimi's contract was terminated at the start of the previous season and the player was sent away from the squad. Following relegation from the Süper Lig, the club is grappling with these financial burdens while maintaining a strong on-field performance. Kayserispor currently sit top of the 1. Lig with 26 points from 11 games and are unbeaten in their last five matches. Their form across the last five matches consists of four wins and one draw. During this run, they drew 2-2 with Batman Petrolspor on 18 October, having previously beaten Antalyaspor 4-0 away and Manisa F.K. 3-2.

The team's 24 goals scored this season marks one of the best attacking records in the division, having conceded only 7 for a goal difference of plus 17. Their lead at the top is now just a single point over Bursaspor. The team's top scorer this season is Taulant Seferi with 9 goals in 11 appearances. After a 2-2 draw with Batman Petrolspor on 18 October, the team's next fixture is away to Pendikspor, who are 17th in the table, on 25 October. These developments point to a critical period for the club's squad planning.
